The Best 20 Rising Christian Romance Authors (according to Lila)

I don't know about you, but even though I've always considered myself an avid reader, I have a hard time keeping up with new Christian authors. While searching for some new authors in the Christian romance genre, I came upon these new-to-me authors that I can't wait to read!

I didn't include Karen Kingsbury, Janette Oke, Lee Tobin McClain, Beverly Lewis, Lori Wick, Grace Livingston Hill, or Francine Rivers, because they are big names. I wanted to find newer authors that were gaining traction but may not be a household name yet. :)

Disclaimer: I have not been able to read all of these authors yet, but I am following all of them on social media and/or their newsletters. They all have at least one book that I'm waiting to read.

In no particular order (I wouldn't be able to compare them to each other--it's like comparing apples to oranges!):

  1. Pepper Basham

  2. Rachel Hauck

  3. Lynette Bonner

  4. Carrie Turansky

  5. Paula Moldenhauer (I've read some of her devotionals but not fiction yet.)

  6. Tamera Alexander

  7. Linore Rose Burkhard

  8. Jennifer Appel (a “sprinkler” of romance within her Christian Adventures! Flight of Her Life is still my favorite of Jenn's.)

  9. Tamera Lynn Kraft

  10. Katherine Reay (I read Dr. Mr. Knightley and was enthralled!)

  11. Lisa Prysock

  12. Patricia PacJac Carroll

  13. Andrea Boyd

  14. Rachel Skatvold (I just finished Guardian of Her Heart and found it cute & enjoyable, though predictable. But then again, I like predictable—a good romance must have that happy ending, right?) ;)

  15. Laura Frantz

  16. Sara Sundin

  17. Hannah Mae Linder (pen-named Willowy Whisper; even though I'm not usually fond of novellas, I loved her Meet My Boyfriend!)

  18. Lisa T. Bergren

  19. Heather Blanton

  20. Julie Lessman

I'm sure there are tons of more, but this will get you started. I've got so many of these authors' books on my exponentially growing To-Be-Read list! :D I don't even know where to start! So many books, so little time!!

Did I miss one of your favorites? Let me know in the comments!
