I've started a new, little experiment. I'm going to try to blog every Friday, just free-writing for five minutes (so don't expect long, polished posts). ;) If you blog, you can join us at http://fiveminutefriday.com/2018/01/11/fmf-link-up-simplify/.
Today's prompt word is SIMPLIFY.
To me, simplify is a great word, but it's a little vague. It can mean different things to different people.
I've already decided to simplify the clutter in my house. I heard a great tip that I'm going to implement: if I find something laying around that I haven't noticed anyone using in a while, I'm going to put it into a box. If those same things are still untouched in the box for a month, I'm getting rid of them. I've got a pile ready to take to the Mission store to giveaway to someone who might actually use the stuff.
I've also been trying to simplify my schedule lately. I have a few things that I have to do every day or every week, and those go on my daily schedule. But I have started a running list of things I want to get to eventually: they are on my “Not Today” list. When I've finished the things on my To-Do list and have a few extra minutes before the next thing, I will pull a task from my “Not Today” list.
I've also added some slots just to spend time with each of my children and with my husband. It's helped me be more intentional about spending time where I want to, not where I feel I need to because of a deadline or a self-imposed agenda.
